Originally I had hoped that Penny, my life partner, would come with me on the Queen Mary II from Quebec City, to Halifax, New York and then to Southampton in late September this year. However she decided  for several reasons that she did not want to undertake this adventure. She will stay home with Lucy the Dachshund. So what should I do instead? The answer was to go Gallivanting. I will start by flying to New York, spend four days there going to an Opera and a couple of plays as well as museums and then embark on the Queen Mary for a seven day luxury ferry trip to Southampton. I will visit with relatives and friends and then spend nine days with my sister Anne on her farm near Canterbury. She and I will attend several events at the Canterbury Festival to-gether. This Blog will be a diary with photographs of the month long trip. Meanwhile Penny's sister will visit her from Melbourne, Australia for two and a half weeks while I am away. I leave on Sunday October 2nd.
